Horse’s Health and Soundness

  • The seller represents to the buyer that the horse is healthy and sound and has no history of health or soundness issues.  Includes space for the seller to write in exceptions.

  • The seller represents to the buyer that the seller has provided the buyer with a complete copy of all vet records for the horse.

  • The seller authorizes veterinarians to release the horse’s records to the buyer.

Horse’s Training and Behavior

  • The seller represents to the buyer that the horse has no history of any of a list of bad habits, such as bucking or rearing.  Includes space for the seller to write in exceptions.

  • The buyer fills in the buyer’s intended use(s) of the horse, and the seller represents to the buyer that seller knows of no reason why the horse wouldn’t be suitable for the buyer’s intended use(s).

Horse’s Ownership and Registration

  • The seller represents to the buyer that the seller is the sole lawful and registered owner of the horse.  Includes space for the seller to write in exceptions.

  • If the horse is registered, the seller agrees to deliver original registration papers to the buyer and provide the buyer with executed transfer forms.

Risk of Loss of or Injury to the Horse

  • The seller retains the risk of loss of or injury to the horse until the buyer takes possession of the horse.
