Liability releases designed for horse owners who have others occasionally exercise their horses or show their horses and want to protect themselves from potential liability associated with these activities. Exercise riders and show riders can be paid or unpaid.
NOT designed for horse owners who have their horses in partial or full training – see our Horse Trainer Liability Release.
NOT designed for use by horse owners who simply have guests riding or handling their horses – see our Liability Releases for Individual Horse Owners.

What it Covers:
Dangerous Behavior: Horse owner can list any behaviors that might present a safety issue for the rider or handler, such as rearing or bucking.
Horse Injures or Kills Rider or Handler: Trainer agrees to hold horse owner harmless if horse injures or even kills the rider or handler.
Safety Attire: Rider or handler agrees to wear safety attire or assume increased risk of injury.
Trail Riding Specific Risks: Rider or handler agrees to assume risks specific to trail riding, such as terrain and wildlife.
Rider’s or Handler’s Experience and Condition: Rider or handler represents they are sufficiently experienced to safely participate in horse-related activities and have no conditions that would impair their ability to ride and handle horses safely.
Third Party Claims: If anyone, such as an insurer or family member, brings a claim against the horse owner in connection with the rider or handler handling or riding the horse, the rider or handler agrees to pay for the horse owner’s defense.
